HandsOn Bay Area

HandsOn Bay Area is an organization that connects locals with high-quality volunteer projects. If you want to make a difference but aren’t sure where to start, HandsOn can connect you with a non-profit in need of assistance.

San Francisco-Marin Food Bank

Did you know that one in five San Francisco residents are in need of food assistance every day? During this time of crisis, it’s crucial to deliver meals to those who need them the most—and every dollar donated to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank provides two meals for local children.

The city of San Francisco has recently created a fund to help support COVID-19 victims, as well as those economically impacted by the virus. Your donation to the Give2SF COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund is fully tax-deductible, and it will directly aid Bay Area locals.

Project Homeless Connect

Project Homeless Connect is a multifaceted non-profit that helps those at risk of becoming homeless, are currently experiencing homelessness, or are transitioning from homelessness to housing. Currently, they’re offering digital assistance programs, as well as a virtual “Compassion in Place” Project.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a national charity focused on delivering meals to older adults who cannot leave their homes. MOWSF’s emergency response team is in dire need of donations, and their volunteer needs change daily.

Silicon Valley Strong

Launched by San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, this newly-founded organization aims to help those most hurt by COVID-19. Their primary goal is to provide food security for seniors and medically-vulnerable, and they are currently accepting volunteers.

St. Anthony’s Foundation

In addition to providing over 2,400 meals per day, St. Anthony’s Foundation also provides clean clothing and addiction recovery services. To continue operations, they are in need of one-time or monthly monetary donations.

United Way Bay Area

In order to help residents impacted by COVID-19, United Way has established the United Way Bay Area COVID-19 Community Relief Fund. This fund will provide 2-1-1 information, technology infrastructure, direct assistance, and worker support to members of our community.
